Laser-etched Assemblies
While relatively expensive, there is nothing quite as attractive as backlighting through laser-etched legends. With today's technology and our degree of experience and care in this technology, fine lines and “cutouts” in the silicone paint or coatings can be precisely controlled for a dramatic effect. Generally these keypads have a polyurethane overcoat applied to keep dirt and dust out of the legend area while protecting its life. This coating also acts as a good seal for the silicone against potential contamination from fluorocarbons.
